Walk 62 Miles in October

I'm walking 62 Miles in October to raise funds for Brooke

Every year, over 6 million donkeys are killed for their skins.

That's why I'm walking 62 miles this October for Brooke, the world's largest working equine welfare organisation.

Every mile I walk and every pound you donate will help expose this cruelty and protect donkeys from suffering and slaughter.

Please support my challenge if you can. Together, we can help create a future where donkeys are safe from the skin trade.

Thank you!

Day 14! its been a while and I have some miles to catch up...

Wednesday 14th Oct
Started off from home with Lupin.
We met carl and Snow outside the gates of the square. I told Carl about the donkeys and will pass on the link for him to have a read - he was absolutely shocked to hear about what is happening to these poor donkeys...
in the square a lovely little girl came up tp see Lupin so she held the lead and walked with us to the end gate.I told her that I was walking to help  the poor donkeys that live in other countries and she said what a sad thing...

Day 4 additional blog

Monday 5th Oct
I almost saw an image on face book that upset me so much I wrote the following immediately after...

I believe that the day we respect all beings - the day when people are not shocked if I were to say that a spiders life is just as valuable as a newly born human, will be the day we will deserve to call ourselves the protectors of the planet - as we do have the capacity to be compassionate to all life - that’s our true difference and strength - anything less is;

self preservation (= politics), that leads to the world we live in now;  fear, jealousy, envy and ultimately unhappiness. (In other words primitive thought patterns, barbaric and cruel thoughts and a blinkered out look on life).

I think the only time I have really felt overwhelmed to the point of tears by the brilliance and beauty of a mass of humans in one space was at a vegan fair - I knew that 99.9 % of those gathered, regardless what they looked like, what colour they were, what clothes they wore, how rich or poor they were, they all had enormous compassion for beings outside of their own species. I would love to feel the same compassion towards human suffering as I do to non human suffering if only all suffering was considered equal so I stand for the silent voices until that day comes.

Day 2

Day 2 and my first walk - 2.13 miles that took one hour and 14 minutes. I will double up on another day as I didn’t find time to walk on day one.

I was accompanied by Mai and Lupin as I wore the Brookes bright orange T-shirt.

On Route we bumped into our neighbour Meril and she kindly said that she would gladly donate towards the issues that the donkeys are facing.

My challenge now is to talk to people on route about this sad plight and hopefully gain one donation on route.

Fingers, Paws and Hooves Crossed.
